By inviting members of the community to invest directly in the club, community shares transform local fans into shareholders, creating a collective commitment to the club’s success. Community shares represent a financial mechanism where individuals invest money in a sports club in return for shares. This approach isn’t about profit-making; rather, it promotes local ownership and ensures that clubs remain anchored within their communities. Clubs use the capital raised through community shares to fund projects that benefit the club and its members, such as upgrading facilities, expanding programs, or purchasing new equipment. ### Implementation Steps **Plan and Structure:** Establish clear goals for the community share offer, detailing how the funds will be used and what impact they will have. **Engage with the Community:** Hold meetings, presentations, and open days to explain the concept and potential benefits to club members and local residents. **Legal and Regulatory Compliance:** Register as a Community Benefit Society (CBS) or similar legal entity to facilitate the offer.
